Hunter Mackenzie Austin

Hunter Mackenzie Austin has voiced lead characters in a plethora of successful TV series and video games, along with being a busy on camera TV & commercial actress. You can see her in new commercials for Marshalls & Doritos to name a few. She plays “Lemle” in XBOX’s Star Ocean: The Last Hope, which she was flown to Shanghai, China to record. Hunter won AnimeDubs Best Actress In An Animated TV Series Award for her quirky portrayal of Michelle on 27 episodes of ROD:Read Or Die.

Her career began when a shy but determined Hunter made her stage debut in San Diego, CA, modeling tennis wear in a fashion show at age 6. Her heart’s desire was to “be an actor inside the TV” and use show business as a platform to encourage others to achieve wholesome, positive goals & spread joy. She believed she could accomplish anything, inspired by Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord: trust in him & he will do this; He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”

By age 15 Hunter added published author to her resume. She penned articles for Tiger Beat, Glamour, LA Weekly, etc. Her tenacity & enthusiasm intrigued the celebrities she approached for interviews, & Hunter’s journalistic endeavors were often made cover stories for national magazines & radio shows. She was hired to write a monthly column covering Hollywood kids, & served as associate editor for Young People Today Magazine. Hunter won the prestigious Camille Award for her literary achievements at such a young age, prompting CBS News to air a segment on her rising career. That publicity led to pitching her first script for Make The Right Choice, a campaign complete with musical numbers Hunter wrote to encourage kids to get high on their goals & dreams, not drugs & alcohol. Something she is passionate about to this day.

Hunter’s wholesome look & ability to memorize dialogue impressed agents & casting directors. They cast her in guest starring roles on Murder She Wrote, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose & others, which led to her favorite role as Matthew Perry’s (Chandler on Friends) girlfriend, Sherry, on The Tracey Ullman Show for 20th Century Fox. Hunter then went on to spend a season as a series regular on the Disney series, Teen Angel, starring as Carolyn with Beverly Hills 90210′s Jason Priestly. Her love of TV inspired her to create & write her own pilot scripts for sit coms & one hour dramas. Within one year of setting up her own pitch meetings, eleven of those pilot scripts were optioned by prominent Emmy winning production companies & networks.

Leeza Gibbons signed on to write the foreword for The Secret Days Of Sydney & Cassidy, a children’s book written & photographed by Hunter. A book deal & a heart for sharing the importance of imagination, brought a national talk show & book signing tour. After seeing Hunter on a talk show, Dick Clark Productions nabbed her to host Dog Dish, a talk show pilot she also co wrote & produced. The E! Network then brought Hunter on for 2 episodes of their style show, Shabby Chic, episodes that were written to showcase the home that Hunter bought & remodeled. She created a haven to share with her animals, who are also in the entertainment industry. She currently lives with a Great Dane, a Bengal, a pig & 3 horses!

Above all, Hunter longs to share what Christ has done with & in her life. She continues to act & write, & is grateful for the opportunity to visit nursing homes, children’s hospitals & hospice facilities with her miniature therapy horse Willow. who proudly wears a patch on his service animal vest that reads “I Spread Joy.” Hunter is training for her 3rd triathlon & is in pre production for a children’s TV series she is co producing. She just completed voice over work on the video game Marvel Verses Capcom.

Things have come full circle & the scripture that started it all has become one of many that Hunter says has given her strength, hope & purpose.
